A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase sacks of organic fertilizer.

Froilana's story

Froilana is 62 years old and widowed. She lives with her two children in her own house located in the Santa Rosa Alta community in the ecological district of Sivia. Froilana, upon seeing that her neighbors were earning a living in the fields, refused to fall behind. She thus began growing cacao and coffee, products for which there is not much competition in her area. Now it is going very well for her, and it also brings her good profits so she does not neglect her household expenses and those of her children. She recognizes that this work requires a lot of effort, so when harvest time comes she has to hire laborers to facilitate the harvest of this produce. What she most longs for is to have capital to invest in her farm, and with the same desire and enthusiasm that characterize her, she wants to improve her cultivation methods to have a better harvest of coffee and cacao. This is her second loan with MFP, and she promises to be punctual in her payments. With the 3,000 soles she is asking for, she will purchase sacks of organic fertilizer to fertilize her fields.
