Sawsan is a 30-year-old Lebanese married woman living with her husband and four school-aged children. In 2000, she started running her business; she owns a female beauty salon. She provides her customers with the top hairdressing services. She is very talented and knows how to satisfy women's demand. Her income is important to help with her household expenses and to pay her children’s school fees.
Today, she is requesting to borrow $800 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase new hairdressing equipment and supplies. In the future, she hopes to further expand her business by adding new beauty services in her salon.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
