Sarah's story

Sarah is 21 years old and lives in the town of Nasana in the Kampala central region of Uganda. She is married and has one child. Her child is not currently in school. Sarah has a business selling shoes, which she has had for one year.

To help expand her business, Sarah has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase shoes for resale. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Sarah hopes to generate greater profits and buy new clothes for herself. In the future, Sarah hopes to expand her business.

Sarah is a member of BRAC’s Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by improving her business.
