Prossy's Group's story

Prossys‘s group is comprised of four hard-working women. Prossys is 20 years old and lives in the town of Nasana in the Kampala central region of Uganda. She is married and has two children. One of her children is currently in school. Prossy has a beauty salon, which she has had for two years. She sells food as her secondary business.

To help expand her business, Prossy has requested a loan of 300,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase braids for the hair for resale. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Prossy hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children. In the future, Prossy hopes to expand her business.

Prossy is a member of BRAC’s Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by expanding her capital that has helped her pay school fees for her child.
