A loan of $900 helped to buy construction materials.

Narcisa De Jesús's story

Ms. Narcisa is a member of the Los Talvos communal bank. She lives in a community near the Del Valle parish, where the climate is cold and the landscape provides beautiful views. The people there work in trade, animal husbandry, and agriculture, and many people work various jobs in the city of Cuenca.

Narcisa is 31 years old. She is a single mother with two children who are 14 and 9 years old. Her first son is studying in high school and her younger son is in a little school in the city. The house they live in is her own thanks to her work and sacrifice.

Narcisa has been working as a domestic employee for one year. She works all day from Monday to Friday and a half-day on Saturdays. At home, she also raises chickens and pigs, which she sells in her community.

This is the third loan she has taken out through the communal bank and she is going to invest it in construction materials to finish her house.

Her goal is to finish her house as it is still missing a few things.
