A loan of $1,100 helped to make a down payment on an industrial sewing machine.

Sandra Aelizabeth's story

Sandra is a member of the 'Los Talvos' community bank. She lives in a neighboring community, in El Valle parish. This is a cold-climate area which affords us a beautiful view of the landscape. The local people work in commerce, animal raising and farming. Many people work in the city of Cuenca in various jobs.

Sandra is 19 years old, single, and lives with her parents. Her dad works in a carpenter's workshop and her mom does the housework. They own the house in which they live.

Sandra is in the sewing business. She learned the trade on the job. She works from Monday to Friday, from 8.00am to 5.00pm. She works half day Saturdays.

This is Sandra's second loan through her community bank and she will invest it in making a down payment on an industrial sewing machine.

Sandra's goal is to finish her university course and get her degree in Physical Education.
