Bosco's story

30-year-old Bosco sells food at a stall in one of the busiest food markets in Kihihi in Western Uganda. The father of two says he began this business with savings from his coffee sales business. He mostly sells maize flour, bananas and cassava. In the photo, he is shown standing next to the many maize flour bags he owns in his store. His business has been in existence for the two years now. On the side, Bosco also operates a commercial motorcycle transportation business commonly known as "Boda Boda". He says he set forth with his own capital. Weekly this business generates sales profit totaling Ugandan shillings 500,000 and he says with this Kiva loan he is going to purchase more foods such as bananas, cassava, yams and beans to resell.
