A loan of $1,125 helped to buy new merchandise such as clothes, shoes and perfumes.

Maria Ignacia's story

María is 64 years old, a widow, and has eight children. She is from the town of León and sells general merchandise. She has been in this business for 10 years. She learned the trade through tradition as her mother was in the same business. She supported her mom from a very early age. She also had a grocery store which she ran for 22 years. Ten years ago she started selling clothes, shoes, perfume, shampoo and cosmetics.

María is requesting this loan to buy new merchandise such as clothes, shoes and perfumes so that she can invest, keep her store stocked and have a greater variety of goods to offer her customers. María says that one of the large projects she would like to carry out is to open a large store where she will sell general merchandise. She also plans to make some repairs to her home and continue working.
