Luz María's story

Mrs. Luz, 43, is originally from Larreynaga, a county in Malpaisillo, in the municipality of León. For 20 years she has lived in the city of León. She is married, the mother of three children and is the owner of a grocery store. She started up her business 20 years ago with a little capital that her husband gave her. She remembers that she only had a table and a few products to sell but thanks to her efforts and desire to get ahead, business gradually became prosperous. She now has five display cases and five wooden shelves. She sells clothing and general items. Her husband continues to give his support by contributing the salary her earns as an employee of the town hall. Her youngest son helps out with the business after school.

She needs the loan to buy basic food items such as rice, beans, sugar, oil and other daily consumption items. She also wants to buy women's, men's and children's clothing. By adding more stock she will be able to attract more customers and increase business. In the future she would like to add aluminum shelving, a freezer, and mannequins. With her earnings she plans to carry out home improvements little by litte.
