Saidu's Group's story

The five teachers in this group work at a secondary school in the township of Kabala. The school was founded in 2001 by the Baptist Mission to improve education in the community. Teachers of this noble institution have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, to seek a loan.

This is the first loan that teachers of this school have received from SMT/Kiva lenders. The group has requested for a loan of SLL 5,000,000. With the help of this loan, these teachers are in a better position to buy or invest in something that their mere salary cannot let them do.

Saidu is the leader of the group. Saidu is 37 years old, is married and has three children. Saidu has requested this loan in order to invest part in his business and also to buy household equipment/furniture.

In this group: Saidu, Ishamil S., Kelfa, Kumba, Sarah E.
