Immaculate's story

Immaculate lives in Uganda. She is married and has five children, three of whom are in school. Immaculate is a fruit vendor. She has been in this business for sevens, and she works seven days out of every week. Immaculate sells her products at the market by means of retail. Immaculate has requested a loan of 600,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more bundles of sugar cane and jackfruit. She also generates additional income through a motorcycle (chauffeur) business. The main business challenges for Immaculate include defaulters, transportation and seasonality. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to start selling at wholesale only and to buy a plot of land. Immaculate lives in a home that she rents. She doesn't have access to electricity and doesn't have access to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include rent, school fees and piped water.
