Mwandiki's story

Mwandiki is aged 43 and has been in farming for the last 20 years producing and selling bananas, milk and coffee on the local market. He is married with two children aged 12 and 9 years. He has one farmhand.

Mwandiki has made a loan request amounting to 35,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase a dairy cow. He says he will use the income generated to educate his children and repay the loan. He is also focusing on buying three more dairy cows in order to run a farm of five.

Mwandika laments poor weather conditions and animal diseases as the major challenges in farming.
