A loan of $750 helped to buy bags of manure.

Eugenio's story

A native of Huancas, an annex of Jauja, Eugenio is 57 years old, and he lives in his own house with his wife and 2 children. He has a 34-year-old experience in agriculture, and every day he tends to his potato, wheat, barley and quinoa crops. He also engages in breeding animals, among which cows and bulls. As his main incomes come from the grains harvests, he intensifies this crops every season. More often than not this is an exhausting job for his family and himself, but their effort is compensated by the earnings, enabling them to pay for their expenses; on top of this, there is always food available for them to eat, a great advantage for his family. This is why he will keep on engaging in this activity and in improving the quality of his lands by fertilizing them with manure. This is the sixth time he has asked MFP for a loan, and to the other members of his communal bank he has proved himself to be very responsible. He likes working in this way because he can always get the money he needs for his agricultural activities in an appropriate way. The loan he is requesting will be immediately used to buy bags of manure to prepare his lands for the next planting season.
