La Buena Amistad Group
In this Group: Bertha, Dora Luz, Nora, Olga Iduvina, Istola, Lucina, Italo Fernando, Julia Consuelo, Zelza
Bertha is a member of the group "La Buena Amistad" and as such she is very thankful for the loans that she have received, which have helped her to progress a lot in her business and her personal life. Before getting the loans she worked selling food in a local market, but due to her health she left the work. Some time later she was better and saw a business opportunity close to her home where there is a bus stop for 3 bus lines. She took advantage of this opportunity to put in a snack stand, and it worked out and is going very well. She sells all kinds of drinks and sodas. Her best clients are the drivers and bus attendants.

Through this business she has been able to make improvements to her house and to help her husband with the family's expenses. The money from this loan will be used to buy more snacks, drinks, cookies, etc so that she can stock her store.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
