A loan of $275 helped to buy bags of manure.

Nancy's story

Nancy lives with her husband and their 3 children in a house of their own located in Jauja. She has been raised in farm work by her parents, and nowadays agriculture and livestock breeding are her main sources of income. She works with her whole family to earn the money she and her family need. She grows maize, potatoes, peas and barley among other products of her area. As for the breeding activity, she owns 8 cows that produce milk she daily sells, thus adding up to her incomes. On the other hand, to maintain the quantity of animals she owns, she grows pasture to feed them. Her main desire is to own a well-supplied dairy farm with a significant number of heads of cattle. She thinks that working with MFP is a positive life experience because she is being taught the values of solidarity and savings, promoted in and by her solidarity group, and in her turn she is more responsible in the repayment of her loans. The loan she is now requesting will be used to buy bags of manure to plant potatoes and broad beans.
