A loan of $375 helped to buy sacks of organic fertilizer.

Jacqueline's story

Jacqueline is 40 years old and a native of Sicaya. She currently lives with her husband and their two children in the house that she inherited from her parents. Throughout her life, she learned the techniques of agriculture and raising cattle. Today, she plants corn, potatoes and alfalfa, all products that she sells each month. She also raises sheep and sells them to earn income that is important for the well-being of her family.

Jacqueline says that she is pleased with her work because she always has products available to sell or for her own consumption. She hopes to acquire more land and to increase her agricultural production as well as to have more sheep

Jacqueline learned about Microfinanzas Prisma through her neighbor, who invited her to become part of the communal bank she joined. Jacqueline is relatively new to her group because this is only the second time she has requested a loan, but she has already earned the confidence of her fellow group members due to her punctual repayments. This time, she will use her loan to buy sacks of organic fertilizer for planting alfalfa and corn.
