Gloria's story

Gloria was born in the city of Maputo in the province of the same name in southern Mozambique. She is a widow and the mother of three children with ages ranging from seven to 17-years-old. She completed five years of schooling but stopped to spend time at home and was never able to return to her studies. Gloria lives in her own home with her family and is not responsible for anyone else. She never left Maputo and only changed houses when she stopped her schooling to go home. She has been a businesswoman for eight years and has a monthly salary of 5.000 meticais (Mozambique currency) which she uses for the household expenses and saves some of in her bank account.

Gloria has never taken out loans with other banks. She heard of Hluvuku through a mobilization movement done in her region by agents of this institution and this is her second loan with Hluvuku in the amount of 23,000 meticais. She intends to use it to buy construction material to expand her merchandise.

She dreams of expanding her business and adding on to her house to offer greater comfort to her family and to do this she intends to request more loans from Hluvuku.
