A loan of $750 helped purchase bundles of second-hand clothes to sell.

Salvador's story

Salvador was born in the city of Maputo, in the province of that same name, south of Mozambique. He’s married and the father of 3 children, aged between 4 and 11. He completed 11th grade and stopped due to a lack of financial means. He lives in his own house in Boane (Maputo Province) with his family and also supports his mother by sending her money to help with her food expenses.
He has never left the province of Maputo where he has been a permanent employee of the Ministry of Education for 17 years and works as a teacher at a school. He has a monthly salary of 11,500 meticals (MZN) and an income from his second-hand clothing sales business of around 5,000MZN, some of which he spends on household expenses and some of which he saves in his bank account.
He has never had loans from any other banks. He heard about Hluvuku through friends who are also Hluvuku clients and this is his fifth loan with Hluvuku for the value of 20,000MZN, with which he intends to buy products (bundles of second-hand clothes for men and women, amongst others). His first loans were for: 8,400MZN, 15,000MZN, 20,000MZN and 32,000MZN, all for his build work.
He dreams of expanding his business by building a commercial establishment, for which he intends to take out more loans with Hluvuku.
