A loan of $2,400 helped a member to buy more chicks and chicken feeds.

Iringa Group's story

Benito, who is in his late 40s, is married with one child who goes to school. He has been running a poultry business for one year now. He works from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and is able to make a good monthly profit. This will be his third motisha loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. A motisha loan is a product offered by Tujijenge Tanzania that allows borrowers with good credit ratings to pay back their original loans faster and receive extra money before their original loan term has ended. He used the previous loans to buy chicken feeds and medicine and has paid back all his loans successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy more chicks and chicken feeds. His dream is to one day be able to buy a land. He will share this loan with his loan group "Iringa," which has a total of eight members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
