Medard's story

Medard is an individual client from Kihihi. He is 35 years old and married with one child who is attending school. He is a very hardworking and cooperative man with a poultry-keeping business from Bugongo Cell that has been running for one year. Medard is grateful that in his one year, he is now able to earn 400,000 shillings weekly. He says that keeping chickens involves too much work, but he is happy that he works together with his wife as he (Medard) leaves home during the week to go to work. His other source of income is his monthly salary, from which he got the capital to start the poultry business. Some of the benefits of taking loans have been buying land for agriculture as well as building his own home, hence putting a stop to renting. He needs a loan to be able to stock more chicken feeds as well as buying day-old chicks for business expansion.
