A loan of $1,100 helped to buy well-bred cattle and their proper food.

Carlos's story

Carlos is 28 years old and lives with his family in their own house, where light is the only service they have. It is located in the rural zone of the district of Callayuc, which belongs to the department of Cajamarca. In this zone, the main economic activities are agriculture and raising cattle.

For several years, Carlos has worked raising and selling cattle. His corral is located outside his house and he feeds his cattle a balanced diet and natural grasses so that their milk production will be good. He offers the milk to others who live in his zone or he brings it to sell at the market in Callayuc. He has regular customers because of the good quality of his milk. He uses his income to take care of his family's needs.

He has requested a loan of 3,000 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa in order to buy more well-bred cattle and their proper foods, so that he can increase his milk production and thereby sell it at a better price to cover his loan repayments. He would also like to improve his family's quality of life. Carlos is a hard-working and very responsible person. The only things he wants are for his business to grow and for his children to have more educational opportunities.
