A loan of $925 helped to maintain, harvest, and plant new coffee seedlings.

Maria Rosa's story

María is 51 years old, a widow, and lives with her children in their own home. The house doesn't have basic services, and is located in the district of Callayuc belonging to the department of Cajamarca. This area is characterized by agriculture, livestock and crafts.

María works in agriculture; she has her own farmland where she plants coffee. She has been growing coffee for many years. Besides being a product widely consumed by people, once she harvests her crop, it is sold in different markets and she gains income to provide a better quality of life for her children.

Upon observing that if her business is going to continue growing, it is necessary to apply for a loan of 2,500 nuevos soles with Edpyme Alternativa. María will use the loan for harvesting and planting new coffee seedlings, which will allow her to increase her customer base as well as her profits. With her hard work and dedication, her children will have academic improvement and more home comforts.
