Flor's story

Flor is a member of the "Las Golondrinas II" (Swallows II) community bank which is located in Tarapoto district, in San Martín province, in San Martín department. She is 38 years old, separated, and has two children who are in elementary school.

When she separated from her husband, Flor found herself needing to support her children. She started her business with just 300 Peruvian soles in capital. With this money she bought a display cabinet and started selling flour-based sweet treats and fruit drinks. She then bought a grill so that she could start selling prepared meals.

Currently, Flor has a wide customer base who seek her out for her kindness and the good customer service that she provides. Thanks to this business, she has managed to get ahead with her children who she supports and educates.

With this loan for 1,000 soles, Flor will buy products to stock her business. She will buy live chickens, seasonings and charcoal for her grills. With this investment, she will be able to attract new customers and keep her current customers happy as her business is well located.

Flor is a tenacious and entrepreneurial woman. Her dream is to own a business that does well. She is very grateful to Movimiento Manuela Ramos for giving women such as herself the opportunity to make their dreams come true.
