Miriam is 27 years old and lives with her partner. She has two children who are two weeks old and five years old. Together with her partner, she has a business fixing computers. Miriam is asking for a loan to buy repair parts for computers. She also would like to begin purchasing computers to sell. Her goal is to begin expanding her business and this loan will greatly help her to do so. Miriam is a hardworking woman and is committed to making the necessary loan payments on time.

Asociación Arariwa is a large non-governmental organization that started offering microcredit in 1994 to improve the quality of life, skills and equity of the population in the rural Cusco region of Peru. Arariwa serves the southern Andean provinces of Peru, and is distinguished by its efforts to reach the very poor, who often live in isolated rural areas. Arariwa fosters village banking, supports savings accounts, promotes access to education, and empowers women entrepreneurs (who make up 78% of its borrowers).
