A loan of $275 helped to buy more boxes of tomatoes.

Hadjah's story

Hadjah lives in Uganda. She is single and has 5 children, all of whom are in school. She also takes care of additional family members (three orphans). Hadjah lives in a home that she owns; she doesn't have access to electricity or to piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees and food for the family.

Hadjah has operated a business selling tomatoes for 8 years, and she works 6 days every week. Hadjah sells her products at the market, by means of retail. She has requested a loan of 700,000 UGX from MCDT SACCO, which she will use to buy more boxes of tomatoes. The main business challenges for Hadjah include seasonality and thieves. Her goal and hope for her business is to start going to farmers for tomatoes.
