Las Perlas Group's story

The 'Las Perlas' community bank is entering its ninth loan cycle. The group has 10 members who all live in La Guardia neighborhood. They all have their own businesses and business activities.

The group's president is María. She is 28 years old and comes from Santa Cruz de la Sierra. She has lived in La Guardia neighborhood for 11 years. Her business is selling light refreshments, breakfasts and lunches from her home. She has been doing this for five years and her business is doing very well. María has a lot of customers and she will use her loan money to buy groceries and supplies for making her snacks as she would like to buy some things in bulk. María isn't married but she lives with Gustavo who sometimes helps her to sell her food. The couple have a young son.

María is a very hard-working person who is grateful to the institution for the support they have given her.
