Mohamad is a 24-year-old Lebanese single man living with his parents and three siblings. He started his career working in a mobile shop. Then, he opened his own store in 2008. With his requested loan of $1000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l., he will increase his merchandise selection of new mobile phones and purchase prepaid telephone cards to sell. The majority of mobile phone users in Lebanon purchase these prepaid cards. He reports that both his business sales and income will increase as a result of the loan. In the future, he is looking to further expand his business and increase his capital.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
