A loan of $300 helped to buy bedspreads, perfumes and ladies' accessories that she has orders for.

Judith's story

Judith lives in the city of Barranquilla and this is where she carries out her business. She lives with her husband and two children who are 3 and 5. She started her business 13 years ago, selling a variety of merchandise with minimal capital. Gradually, with the support of a family member, she managed to increase her working capital and she gradually added other products such as sweet treats and home products, perfumes, ladies' accessories, etc. At the same time, she increased her number of customers. Through her links to Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, Judith has managed to become a stronger entrepreneur, through the training programs which she has attended. Her loans have allowed her to increase her capital and her business vision.

Judith's dream is now focused on continuing to work hard in her business so that she can manage to own her own home. She plans to apply to join the Villas de San Pablo macro project in the city which is run by Fundación Mario Santo Domingo as part of the fulfilment of their mission to develop sustainable communities. Judith's greatest challenge is managing her time as she must also meet her responsibilities as a mother and a wife. While she achieves her dreams, she continues to ensure that she maintains a profitability on her sales of no less than 29%. She plans to increase this figure with her Kiva loan. Judith will use her loan to buy bedspreads, perfumes and ladies' accessories that she has orders for and this will be a successful experience thanks to her discipline and her great experience in selecting profitable customers, in order to achieve healthy sales on credit.
