A loan of $550 helped to buy balanced feed for her animals.

Maria Josefina's story

María is 64 years old and lives with her husband in a home of their own. The home does not have running water or electricity and is located in the rural zone of Tambogrande, part of the Piura department. This zone is known for its agriculture, livestock, and arts.

María has been raising and selling sheep and cattle. Her pens are appropriately spacious and located a few minutes from her home. She provides balanced feed and natural grasses so that her animals will grow to the optimum size and she can offer them to customers at the different markets within the zone. In this way she generated a good income to cover the daily household expenses. She also has a hectare of land that she inherited from her father, where she raises lemons and mangos and sells her harvest.

She has requested a loan of 1,500 PEN through Edpyme Alternativa, so that she can buy balanced feed to fatten up her animals and be able to sell them for better prices. She will be able to repay the loan with the income she obtains, and also provide a better quality of life to her family. María is a very hard working and dedicated person who only wants to get ahead with her husband and have some comforts.
