María Luzmila's story

María is a member of the Las Toquilleras Communal Bank. The members live in the Sigsig canton. This canton is frequently visited for it beautiful scenery and its landscape. Most of its inhabitants make panama hats. They also work in agriculture and raise animals. They are very amiable and hospitable people.

María, age, 36 is married and has three children. They children are 16, 15, and 9 years old. The first two are in high school, and her last daughter attends a school in the area. Her husband is a driver, and he works driving heavy transport. Through their joint efforts they have managed to build their own house.

María has a grocery store, and she has worked there for six years. She tends to the store from six in the morning until ten at night. Also, she has been making panama hats since she was a young girl.

This is her second loan in her communal bank. She will use it to buy rice, sugar, eggs, oil, sausages, detergent, and other basic needs items. She will do this to stock her business more.

Her goal is to enlarge her store.
