A loan of $550 helped to buy a cow.

María Rosa's story

María is a member of the “Nueva Amistad” communal bank and lives in the Cumbe parish. The climate in this parish is cold but its people have very warm hearts, are friendly, and maintain their ancestral culture and traditions. They raise animals, and are involved in agriculture and business.

María is 52 years old, is married, and has five adult children. They are all married and on their own. Her husband drives heavy transport vehicles and they have built their home together.

María is a home maker and raises animals such as Guinea pigs, chickens, and livestock. She also farms and the harvest is for her and her husband’s own consumption.

She has been with the communal bank for four years and will use the money from this loan to buy a cow. Her goal is to buy a vehicle.
