Jose Bernardo

A loan of $1,100 helped to buy nutritional feed for his cattle and poultry.

Jose Bernardo's story

32-year old José lives with his wife and children in their own house which has electricity. It is located in the rural area of Mórrope, in the department of Lambayeque. The area is known for its agriculture, cattle, and tourism.

For the last few years José has earned his living raising and selling cattle. The corral is located just outsiD. his house. He feeds the cattle nutritional feed and grass so that they get to their optimum weight. He then sells them in various local markets. With the income he earns he can pay for family expenses.

José has approached Kiva partner Edpyme Alternativa for a loan of 3000 soles to buy more nutritional feed and some poultry. In this way he will be able to expand his business by selling other animals and increase sales. His goal is to improve the standard of living of his family. He is a hardworking, very responsible person whose only wish is to see his family get ahead and have an easier life.
