A loan of $200 helped to buy three cans of carrot seeds.

Ubaldina's story

Ubaldina is 40 years old and is a single mother. She lives in the Palca area, where she raised her son Fabio, who is 12 years old and is her reason for being and for whom she is striving. Ubaldina's mother is the owner of several areas of land, of which she (Ubaldina) plants part and her brother plants the rest. It is thus that she begins working at 4 in the morning, preparing her food to take with her and leaving the other part in her wood-fired oven so that when her son returns from school, he will find his lunch hot. She has been organizing her household and her fields in this way for many years, which fills her with great satisfaction, above all when it is time to sell her products in the wholesale market (the most important one in Tarma). She accumulates very good earnings, with which she maintains and educates her son. Her principal crops consist of potatoes, carrots, and all types of greens. Now she is preparing for her harvest of potatoes of the variety "Unica." When her son is grown, she wants to increase her crops, until she attains a much healthier standard of living. She belongs to the communal bank "Santo Domingo," and this is their fifth loan with MFP, to which they are grateful for the support received during this time. And they hope that they will offer them a new loan so that they can continue with their plans. When she receives her support, Ubaldina will invest the money she has requested in 3 cans of carrot seeds for her next planting.
