Esmeralda's story

Esmeralda is a single mother who lives in the province of Valle, Honduras with her nine year-old son. She earns a living by selling freshly-squeezed orange juice and a local crepe-like dish called a baleada. Esmeralda sells her food near the border between Honduras and El Salvador where there is always a lot of traffic. She is requesting a loan of Lps. 15,000 in order to purchase ingredients for making orange juice and baleadas.
