A loan of $875 helped to buy a canopy for her hot dog cart and to buy ingredients in larger quantities.

Diana Maria's story

Diana lives in the Santa Maria neighborhood, located in the southwest of the city of Barranquilla. She has five children between the ages of 12 and 27. When she was 13 years old, she started working as a domestic employee, and continued doing so until she was 40 years old. Then, she decided to follow her dream of having a business. She took advantage of her knowledge of how to prepare fried foods and started with just a large bowl in front of her house. She later added stuffed potatoes, pastries, lunches, and now fast foods, and this is how she has succeeded in supporting herself and her family. Today, she has three adult children and two who are still in her care. She struggles for them so that they can achieve their dreams and have successful futures.

This credikiva is Diana's first loan through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. She will use it to buy a canopy for her hot dog cart and to invest in purchasing ingredients in larger quantities. She will be able to carry those savings over to her selling prices.

Her dream is that her adult children will achieve complete independence and that her entire family will improve its quality of life each day.
