A loan of $375 helped to purchase pea seeds.

Mateo's story

Mateo is 41 and lives in the hamlet of Punray with his wife of 20 years, Antonia. Together they have 4 children, though only 3 live with them in their own home. "The road to establishing oneself in agriculture is very tough", says Mateo. Despite having 10 years of experience in agriculture, he still does not have his own agricultural land because his main priority during all this time has been maintaining his family and offering a good education to his children. For this reason, he works in his free time as a longshoreman, loading various bags of potatoes on different trucks for transportation to the markets in the interior of the country. He also works as a labourer on other people's lands. This way, he learns new cultivation techniques for his own potato, corn and pea crops. He sells his crops in the wholesale market in Tarma city. For the future, he wants to have enough money to buy his own agricultural lands. He belongs to the Nueva Jerusalen communal bank, and this is his sixth loan with MFP. He hopes for your collaboration so that he can continue toward his goals. He is also grateful for the support of his communal bank. They are united people, and he promises to be punctual with his quotas. Upon receiving your support, Mateo will invest the requested loan in the purchase of pea seeds for his next crop.
