Luisa's story

Luisa belongs to the communal bank “CHOQUEQUIRAO." This bank is located in the Huanchac district of Cusco province, in the department of Cusco. Luisa, 50, lives with a partner and has 2 children. She has a business buying and selling clothing and appliances. She travels to the city of Tacna to buy merchandise such as jackets, sweatshirts and other clothing for men and women. She also purchases appliances and sells them door-to-door based on advance orders. She has had this business for 15 years. Luisa also sells handicrafts that she makes such as chessboards, lamps and musical dolls made of clay. She requests a loan so that she can buy clothing at wholesale, appliances such as tv's and stereos, and materials to make her ceramics.
