Alfredo Javier's story

Alfredo Javier is 41 years old, married, and lives with his wife and children (ages 14, 6, and 9 months) in the canton of Ventanas in Los Ríos Province.

The members of the Communal Bank “Tierra Nuestra” (Our Land) meet in the neighborhood of San Luis de Zapotal, which is part of the canton of Ventanas. This Communal Bank consists of short-cycle farmers who grow corn and rice.

Alfredo is a farmer who grows corn and rice. He buys his products at the AGRIPAC commercial center and sells at the wholesale market in Ventanas.

The loan he is requesting will be used for planting corn and rice. He plans to buy seeds and compost for his corn and rice crops. With the financial assistance provided through this loan, he will be able to acquire needed supplies. The challenges he faces include diseases that could impact his crops and the lack of money to pay for more workers. His dreams include making improvements to his house and providing for his children’s education.

Alfredo enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his children.
