A loan of $1,700 helped a member to buy secondhand clothes and take them upcountry to sell.


Dovya Group's story

Happy, who is in her late 20s, is single with two children who go to school. She has had a food vending business for one year. She works from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. This will be her 1st loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, which she wants to use to buy secondhand clothes and take them upcountry (to the Tanga region) to sell them there. Her dream is to one day be able to buy land. Happy will share this loan with her group "Dovya" which consists of 15 members who will hold each other accountable in repaying their loans.
