A loan of $850 helped to buy fabrics to sell.

Shemus's story

Shemus, a 29-year-old Rwandan entrepreneur, is married to a motorcycle taxi driver and the mother of three children, all in school. The operator of an enterprise called Berwa since 2007, Shemus originally offered only tailoring services but now has expanded to include the sale of fabrics. She will use this loan to purchase additional fabric that she will both sell and use to make clothing.

With her business profits, Shemus plans to pay the school fees for her children and also accumulate savings for her family’s future.
