A loan of $925 helped to buy coats for resale.

Lucila's story

Lucilia is a member of the “Virgen D. la Asunción” communal bank, located in the district and province of Yunguyo, in the Puno department. She is 45 years old, married, and has three children, two of whom are on their own. She has a 9th graD. education.

Lucilia has been working with “Movimiento Manuela Ramos” for four years and her first loan was for 500 PEN, which she used to invest into her business of selling bulk grain. Now she sells clothing and she will use the money from this 2,500 PEN ($925) loan to buy 150 coats of various sizes. She tells us that she buys her products in Desaguadero and sells them in the “Yunguyo y Juliaca” market in Lima.

Her greatest dream is to improve her business, increase her inventory of merchandise, and in this way increase her income so that she can buy a house. What she likes most about the communal bank in the ease of obtaining loans and the savings.
