Adriana Katiny is 19 years old, married, and lives with her husband and children in the canton of Ventanas in Los Ríos Province.

The members of the Communal Bank “Nuevo Amanecer” (New Dawn) meet in the neighborhood of Recinto San Luis de Zapotal, which is part of the canton of Ventanas. This Communal Bank has 12 members, most of whom are long-time farmers who grow corn and rice.

Adriana Katiny is a farmer who grows corn and rice. She buys her products at the PRONACA Commercial Center and sells at the wholesale market in Ventanas.

She is requesting a loan for growing corn and rice. Adriana will buy seeds, compost, and remedies for her crops. With the financial assistance provided through this loan, she will be able to acquire needed supplies. Some of the challenges she faces include diseases that could make her workers sick and the lack of money for making continued investments. Her dream is to buy more land so that she can continue planting.
