Luz De Bendicion 1 & 2 Group's story

Marie is one of the members of the “Luz de Bendicion 1 & 2” (Light of blessing) group which is comprised of 10 micro-businesswomen. They are involved in clothing sales, natural products sales, shoe sales, food sales, etc. Marie lives in the city of La Romana. Its economy depends on tourism and the sugarcane industry. Marie is very excited to receive her second loan from Esperanza Internacional, having satisfactorily repaid her previous loan and taken an important step in her business growth. She has had her business for about eight years; she started it with her saving. She is running a cosmetics and shoes sales, and she is planning on investing the new loan to have capital and be able to buy what her clients order. She does her sales by walking around with products and with a catalog. When her clients order an item, she buys it and most of them pay on credit. Marie’s family is made up of herself, her long-term partner and their three children, of whom two live in her house. She tells us that her greatest challenge is to build her house into a better structure. She will use her profits to save and start making change to her house by building little by little. She thanks you all for your support!!
