A loan of $1,000 helped to buy supplies such as fertilizers and manure.

Angel Misael's story

Angel Misael, 28, is married and lives with his wife and children, aged 10 and 3. He lives in the Recinto El Progreso, which belongs to the Chillanes canton.

There are 13 members of the rural communal bank "El Progreso," which is located 15 minutes from the office in Chillanes. This is the third loan that they have requested. The members of this group are farmers who specialize in short cycle agriculture cultivating cocoa, corn, bananas, soybeans and cassava.

Angel is a farmer who cultivates cocoa, corn, bananas, soybeans and cassava. He makes his purchases in Chillanes and San Pablo, and he sells his produce in the Sunday market in Chillanes.

This loan will help him to buy supplies for his crops such as fertilizers and manure, which will help him to increase the productivity of his croplands. He has confronted challenges such as diseases and pests that affect his crops and illnesses that affect his workers. His dream is to have good health so that he can continue to work and education his children.

In his free time he enjoys going for walks with his children.
