A loan of $625 helped to buy and sell products (Colgate, peanuts, Omo laundry soap, soft drinks, etc.).

Veronica's story

She was born in Milange District, Zambezia Province in northern Mozambique. She is married and has three children between the ages of 7 and 20; all the children go to school. Veronica finished fifth grade and quit school because of financial problems. She lives in her own house with her family and does not support anyone else.

She left Zambezia to move to Maputo with her parents when she was young, and later she made her own home. She has been a businesswoman for more than 12 years. She sells assorted products and drinks, and she earns a monthly income of 7,000 meticais, which she uses for household expenses. She also saves some money in her bank acount (at BIM).

Veronica has never had loans from other banks. She learned about Hluvuku through neighbors who are also customers of this institution. This is her second loan with Hluvuku. She is asking for 17,000 meticais, which she will use to buy products (Colgate, peanuts, Omo laundry soap, soft drinks and other items) to increase her inventory. The earlier loan was for 10,000 meticais and was used for business.

Veronica will make her payments as scheduled, and in the future she intends to ask for more loans to buy a vehicle, and to do that she will ask Hluvuku for loans.
