A loan of $750 helped to purchase products for sale (beans, peanuts, cooking oil, rice, etc.).

Jose's story

Jose was born in the city of Xai Xai in the Gaza province of southern Mozambique. He is married and has 3 children ages 3 to 9. The older children attend school. He attended school through the third grade but dropped out due to financial circumstances. He lives with his family in his own home and does not support anyone else.

He left Gaza for Maputo to look for work. He currently works as a security guard at a private home. For the past year he has also had his own buisiness selling basic goods. He has a salary of 2.500.00mts and his business earns 7.000.00mts per month. He is able to cover his household expenses and save a bit in his bank account (BIM).

He has never had a loan in other banks. He learned about Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client. This is his first loan with Hluvuku, in the amount of 20.000.00mt, which he will use to purchase products (beans, peanuts, cooking oil, rice, etc.) to increase his stock and respond to customer demand.

Jose is confident that he will pay off the loan without any problems. In the future he would like to expand his business and he plans to request future loans from Hluvuku.
