A loan of $3,050 helped a member to purchase carton and leather.

Mallku Irpiri Group's story

The "Mallku Irpiri" communal bank is starting its sixth cycle in Pro Mujer, as part of the German Busch Central Office. It has eight members and is governed by a board of directors, headed by Mrs. Noelia. The members' businesses are varied and include: bookbinding, plumbing, driving, vehicle repair, a canteen, sewing jackets and backpacks, and shoe sales. Noelia says that she has belonged to a Pro Mujer communal bank for six years, after receiving an invitation from a friend. She currently has a bookbinding business. The loan that she is now taking out is for increasing her capital (purchasing carton, leather, etc), buying from a distributor and selling once it is all together. This work allows her to generate an income to support her family where possible. She lives with her partner and has one child. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replies that she likes the loan savings and the training.
