Arabela Group's story

The Arabela group is made up of three hard-working and enterprising women. The group coordinator is Mrs. Auxiliadora del Socorro, age 42. She has sold nactamales [a traditional dish-dough, filled with meat and vegetables and wrapped in plantain leaves] and dairy products for five years. She started this business selling chocolate bananas, ice creams...etc. With her earnings, she started making small amounts of nactamales.
She has four children, and her oldest daughter (age 16) helps her with the business. Auxiliadora's goal is to invest in another business, such as clothing and shoe sales.
The other members are Mayda, age 30, who sells tortillas and dairy products, and Jenny de los Angeles, age 24, who has sold cosmetics, clothing and perfumes for five years.
