Tegemeo Group's story

Saleh, who is in his mid-30s, is married with 4 children who are still going to school. He has been selling bread for 8 years now. He works from 8am to 6pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be his second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loan to sell different types of bread, and he has paid back his loan successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy a permanent place for his business (he is tired of renting). His dream is to own a bakery one day.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Tegemeo", which has a total of 17 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
