Mkaratusi Group's story

Ramadhani, who is in his early 40s, is married with five children who go to school. He has had a food vending business for 2 years now. He works from 4am to 6pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit. This will be his 3rd Motisha loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. A Motisha loan is a product offered by Tujijenge Tanzania that allows borrowers with good credit ratings to pay back their original loans faster and receive extra money before their original loan term has ended. He used the previous loans to start selling chips and to pay school fees and household expenses, and he has paid back all his loans successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy more food stock for the food cafe. His dream is to be able to build his own house one day. He will share this loan with his loan group "Mkaratusi" which has a total of 10 members, and who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
